Parliamentary Friends of People with a Disability

Parliamentary Friends of People with a Disability was established in 2006. It is one of a large number of friendship groups within the Federal Parliament established to promote the interests of specific groups and to ensure that they are not overlooked in the policy making and budgetary processes of the national parliament. The group aims to raise awareness within the Parliament and the Government of the issues facing the disabled, their families and carers and to assist in improving the quality of life of this group by ensuring their needs are properly considered at the national level.
