Federal Election 2010
This election is a very important election for people with intellectual disability and their families. Not so much for the 'small' policy announcements that the parties will make but for their committment to funding the outcomes of the Productivity Inquiry into long term support and also their commitment to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

This is not to belittle the committments made in this election, which will have a positive effect on the lives of people with intellectual disability, but we must not be diverted from the most important committment - that is a committment for an entitlement funding scheme that meets the all support needs of all people with intellectual disability.
